I left the hospital today, me and Arthur sat in the back with the baby and
Alfred drove. When we came back it was dead quiet, I wanted it to stay that way
the baby was asleep.

Tony came out of Alfred's room and said loudly, "Fucking Bitch!"

Alfred quickly shushed him and whispered loudly, "The baby is sleeping dude!"

Tony nodded and then walked over to the sleeping newborn in the car seat. He
looked at us and then walked away back into Alfred's room.

I put the car seat on the table and then carefully took the baby out. I rocked
[b/n] softly and slowly walked to the room we had made for her. I looked at her
for a long while before I put her in the crib her uncle Matthew bought for us.

When I was watching her sleep soundly I looked to see Arthur standing next to me
with an arm wrapped around my waist and then kissed my cheek. Alfred came in and
said, "Dude she even sleeps like a hero!"

I looked to the sleeping baby still wrapped up in blankets. We all walked out
the room, it was late at night when I got discharged from the hospital and I was
still tired.

"I'm ready to hit the hay, what about you guys?"

Arthur nodded, "I am pretty tired as well."

"Yea dudes, I think I'm gunna KO any second now."

We all went off to bed. When we were getting ready to go to bed I glomped  
Arthur in a hug and a big kiss.

"What's this for, love?"

"For sticking by me through this and not leaving."

"What did I tell you love, we're getting married soon, I will love you for all
eternity. There is still time for us to have kids, you won't ever worry about me
leaving you."

I released him, I thought I was done falling in love with him all over again but
it seems that I wasn't.

"Let's go to bed." He said warmly.

As I was falling asleep I thought, "Maybe having a baby now won't be so bad."

Three hours later

I. Fucking. Lied

She woke up screaming bloody murder. It seems that Arthur couldn't hear
anything, more likely he didn't want to, I got up and started walking into the
room with the screaming getting louder and making me louder.

"Come on [b/n] I'm very tired baby."

I started to pat the baby's side lightly and shush it, I probably would've
succeeded if I wasn't so tired. Just then, Arthur came trudging into the room,
shirtless and yawning.

"What's the matter love? The baby won't go to sleep?"

I shook my head tiredly. He took the baby and said, "I have a song that might do
the trick."

He started to sing softly,

"In sleep he sang to me
In dreams he came
That voice that calls to me and speaks my name

And do I dream again for now I find...."

"Arthur look, she's sleeping."

We looked to find [b/n] sleeping soundly in his arms.

"Wait....was that Phantom of The Opera you were singing?"

He nodded, "I used to sing it to lull Alfred to sleep when he was a baby."  

"Well it works."

"He still needs me to sing it to him though, rarely he gets night terrors and he
won't go back to sleep until I sing that song to him. Don't tell him I told you
that."

I nodded, poor Alfred.....

He put [b/n] back in the crib and grabbed my hand for us to go back to sleep.

Another two hours later

The baby started crying, AGAIN.
We both got up to get her but then she was quiet, we walked in the room to find
Alfred rocking the baby back and forth. She was instantly quiet and dozing off,
he didn't notice us standing here but I didn't want him to.
After twenty minutes he put the baby back in the crib and then tucked her back
in and started for the door. We hid in the dark hallway so he didn't see us,
when he walked back into his room we both looked at each other astonished.

"Well I'll be damned, I didn't know he was good with kids."

"Me either."

Arthur said, "Well now we can go back to sleep I guess."

And that's how we learned [b/n] had undying affection for her uncle Alfred.

One year later
~~~~~~~~~~~
We woke up to find [b/n] not in her bed. She just transitioned to a bed and if
she had a problem she would just tell them, what happened?

We looked all over the house for her and we went into Alfred's room to find him
and her cuddled up with each other in his bed. She was using her teddy bear that
he got her for the baby shower as a pillow,

"Arthur look....."

"My my, she really does love her uncle doesn't she."

With the way they acted you could swear that was his daughter. We left them
alone and got started on breakfast.

When they woke up, she emerged with her teddy bear in one hand dragging it on
the floor and the other locked with Alfred's.

"Morning dudes!" He said in a tired, cheerful way.

"Morning Alfred. Morning [b\n]."

"So how was sleeping with uncle Alfred for the first time?"

She cocked her head and Alfred answered instead, "She has been sleeping with me
for a while."

Me and Arthur both stopped drinking and he continued, "She always comes to my
room at night, she says she needs to sleep with her favorite hero."

We both smiled at that, "Well you two, come to the table, breakfast is ready."

They both sat next to each other and we gave each of them a plate. As we were
eating we watched how similar they acted, even the way they talked was the same.


"I have something to tell you [b/n]."

"Yes?" She answered politely.

"I have the day off today, we can spend the day together."

Her face beamed with excitement, she ran over and hugged him tightly, "Yay!" She
had cheerfully.

We both watched enthusiastically as they talked to each other. They made each
other laugh and even understood one another even when no one else does!

"Love...."

"Yes Arthur?"

"Our wedding is coming up soon, are you excited?"

I nodded. That was the next event, the icing on my cake.
