They brought Matthew his food and Gilbert took the liberty of feeding him in front of everyone. 

"Gilbert, stop...." Matthew bashfully begged.

"Why should I, Birdie?" 

"Because....everyone is here and it's kind of embarrassing..."

Gilbert put down the spoon of mashed potatoes and smiled. He kissed Matthew on the lips, I think he truly forgot we were here. 

"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy you're okay." 

Matthew blushed and kissed him back. 

"I know you are. I forgive you." 

Gilbert got the little bowl of mashed potatoes and then asked, "Now can I finish feeding you?" 

Matthew nodded and opened his mouth for the oncoming spoonful of food. 

I felt Alfred wrap his arms around my waist and pull me close. I looked at him with a smile on my face, I never would have thought that I would miss this. He kissed me and whispered in my ear, "I should feed you something." 

"What exactly are you going to feed me?" 

"We'll have to find out...." 

Before Alfred was able to kiss me, Ludwig made a loud "ahem". Stopping us from doing anything else. 

"Come on uncle!" 

Ludwig shook his head. 

"Nein! Not while I'm around." 

"But how come Gilbert gets to do it?!" 

Ludwig looked at me with that same straight face.

"Gilbert has a special reason, you don't." 

I rolled my eyes and looked over at Gilbert, who smiled at me and went back to making out with Matthew. I couldn't get mad at him though. He was so happy. 

That's when Arthur intervened. 

"Come on Ludwig, let them be young and kiss!" 

Ludwig looked at Arthur and sighed while pushing up his glasses. He then looked at me and Alfred and then nodded. 

"Do what you want...." 

Alfred didn't even let me speak before the waves of kisses came to me. Arthur smiled at Ludwig, Ludwig then said, "You know Arthur, you have a nice smile." 

Arthur blushed and then turned back around to Matthew. 

Was he?....Naw, he couldn't have been flirting. 

------Timeskip---------

The cops finally showed up. Matthew told them everything. Elizabeta and Gilbert's brothers beating him up and then leaving him for dead. Gilbert looked like he was going to cry all over again so Alfred took him out of the room. 

The cops went over to Ludwig and Arthur. 

"Since Gilbert has stepped out of the room, is what he saying true? Has she been stalking him?" 

They didn't know what to say so I cut in. 

"Yes, she has. She was stalking him at the mall the other day, she also made me think my boyfriend was cheating on me with her. She's not right in the head." 

The taller cop scratched his head. 

"Well apparently this Elizabeta person has been arrested several times a few years back. It was actually for the same reason. Her boyfriend broke up with her and she couldn't handle it. She was committed to a mental institution for about two months, they sent her home because they thought she was fit to live in the outside world." 

Arthur and Ludwig frowned. 

The cop asking us the questions said, "Tell me something, from what I hear about Gilbert's family, how was he treated there?" 

I gulped. 

"He's been treated horribly. He didn't have a bedroom and they were always yelling at him and beating him up for no reason." 

They nodded at each other. 

"His family's name has been thrown around the station a few times. Almost all the men in the family have been convicted of either assault, attempted murder, or domestic abuse. That place isn't fit to have a person like Gilbert, from what Matthew told us." 

One cop put his hand on my shoulder. 

"We don't want them roaming the streets anymore than you do. We will do everything in our power to hatch a court date and convict them. All of them." 

These cops sounded true to their word. For the first time, I had hope. I feel like some justice will be served. They gave us a tip of their hats and left the building. 

Matthew asked me, "Can you check on Gilbert for me?" 

I nodded and went to the cafeteria the hospital had to go get his and my boyfriend. 

I found them at one of the tables, Gilbert was eating some ice-cream and Alfred was talking about superheroes to lighten the mood. I sat down at the table with them. 

"Hey (name), are the cops going to help us?" 

I nodded. 

Alfred looked at Gilbert and asked, "Can I tell her?" 

Gilbert smiled and nodded. 

Alfred beamed at me and whispered, "Gilbert is planning on proposing to Matthew." 

I smiled and looked at Gilbert. 

"When?" 

He shrugged. 

"Thanksgiving is coming up. I guess I could do it there, or maybe Christmas." 

I gave him a big hug. 

"I'm so happy you found your one true love, Gilbert...." 

He hugged me back and whispered in my ear, "Thank you." 

When I pulled away I couldn't help but look at Alfred and Gilbert giving each other sly faces. There was something else they weren't telling me. What was it?
